Quarantine Tales: Home Sweet Home!

Home sweet Home! It’s quite a relief to be out of quarantine. I just wish I could come up with some shinier pearls of wisdom about how to get through the experience than keep busy and stay positive. Sadly (or perhaps mercifully) I don’t have enough insights to be mined or lessons to be learned for a single article, let alone a bestselling eBook. Better just to put it all behind me and move on.

During the last few days of quarantine, one of the projects I was working on was the official global rollout of our VIA Mobile360 Forklift Safety System. We initially developed this system in response to demand from customers in China looking for AI solutions to prevent forklift accidents involving pedestrians in complex warehouse and factory environments. Since we launched it on the country’s National Forklift Safety Day in May at an event in the city of Dongguan, we have completed a wide variety of installations for customers operating in many different verticals, including logistics, materials handling, and manufacturing.

To learn more about the types of deployments we are implementing, check out this case study of a forklift safety project we recently carried out for Shaanxi Automotive Group, the leading manufacturer of commercial heavy vehicles in the northwest of China. With its smart people detection and driver monitoring features, the system has not only played a significant role in preventing collisions between forklifts and factory personnel but has also enabled drivers to maintain attentiveness while operating their vehicles in a hectic working environment.

Judging by the enthusiastic reception we received for the demo of the system that we showed at our MINEXPO 2021 booth, we are optimistic that demand will be strong in global markets. To learn more about the VIA Mobile360 Forklift Safety System, please visit the product page or contact me.
