Learning requires
Increasing every day.
The Dao requires
Decreasing every day.
Decrease and decrease again,
Until you attain
Effortless action.
With effortless action
Nothing is left undone.
All-under-heaven is won
Without interfering.
Interfering never wins
All-under-heaven.

「為學日益,為道日損,損之又損,以至於無為;無為而無不為。取天下常以無事,及其有事,不足以取天下。」

We are living in a time when the world’s store of data is increasing at an exponential rate. Is this enabling us to make better decisions or does it actually impede our ability to get things done because we get so caught so caught up in the minutiae of the data that we cannot see the wood for the trees?

Instead of continuing to clutter up your mind with useless facts and theories, learn to harness the knowledge you already have so that you instinctively know when and how to apply it.

Don’t be a slave to all the data clogging up your PC, smart phone, or cloud; master it through effortless action.

Note
I took this image at Longhu (Dragon Tiger) Mountain, a famous Daoist site about ten miles south of Yingtan in Jiangxi Province. A great place to visit!

I live in Taiwan and am interested in exploring what ancient Chinese philosophy can tell us about technology and the rise of modern China.
